her appearance and read her poem. "Sandy Snail is a little sea
snail that lives on the beach. Can you tell me where her home is"? Have children answer questions about Sandy Snail that may encourage a
short story; Why do you think Sandy Snail lives on the beach? "Do
you think Sandy Snail moves fast or slow? Record answers on your Beach Stationary Page and copy EFEC for children to take home today. If time permits: Read
related books about the beach and or show pictures of beach scenes. EFEC means, "Enough for Each Child.. CP means, Construction Paper. |

Have children
color the front page of Sandy Snail's Bookcover Page. Cut and paste the front cover onto blue CP, EFEC. (Use 2 pieces of CP and 4 pages of white paper.
Staple, yarn or brad the book together.
Add all this week's related artwork and send home with children on Friday.

Slow Counting
Activity Math
Allow children
to color The Four Snails Page. Help children
cut each apart. Instruct children to begin counting each snail. Show them
how to line each snail in a row as they count. (Variation) Count the snails
in different sequences once colored. "What ideas do you have for this page?

Swim,
Sandy, Swim! Large Motor Skills
Have the
children use their arms as if they were swimming. Play, "Swim,
Sandy, Swim". Instruct children to swim forward, backward and
"Butterfly stroke". Allow children to continue swimming until
you shout "Swim Sandy, swim"! children must swim as fast as
they can in any style.
